What is DRIME？

In 1994, Tanya Price had a vision to use creative tools of evangelism to share the Gospel with the lonely and searching world. She shared her dream with friends and fellow students at Northwest Baptist College, and before long a small group of 10 enthusiastic students began an outreach ministry on the city streets of Vancouver. Today, DRIME continues as a vital, full-time street drama and equipping ministry which uses the tool of choreographed dramas set to music to share the Gospel with those on the city streets around the world.

Throughout the years, God has graciously allowed us to take teams internationally to countries such as Brazil, Kenya, Russia, Greece, Mexico, Paraguay, Benin, Sudan, and Argentina. In 2003, DRIME launched its first international team in Gramado, Brazil in partnership with Janz Team Ministries. Since then, DRIME has grown to include several more teams around the world.

In July of 2007, DRIME joined the ministry of Power to Change (P2C – formerly Campus Crusade for Christ Canada), and is working in collaboration with many of the P2C ministries to reach the people on the city streets for the Kingdom!

About DRIME Hong Kong

Since 2010, DRIME has sent several short term missionary teams to Hong Kong. In late July 2014, a leadership team was formed by local Christian volunteers in view of starting a DRIME team, and the DRIME Hong Kong team was officially established in November of the same year. The team regularly holds street ministries to help people to discover Jesus and actively inspires members to take up serving opportunities and multiplication by regular drama practices, evangelism training, spiritual-life and personal-growth cultivation sessions. In January 2015, DRIME Hong Kong was officially one of the ministries of Hong Kong Campus Crusade for Christ (HKCCC). At present, you can see a group of passionate Christians serving to bring the Man-in-white to everyone on the streets of Hong Kong twice in a month on a Friday evening or a Sunday afternoon. Besides, DRIME Hong Kong would like to work with churches and Christian faith based organizations. The team is ready to receive invitation to hold drama workshops, sharing sessions of evangelism experience, drama performance in special events (e.g. evangelical service). DRIME Hong Kong hopes to share the team’s vision in order to empower more fellow Christians to fulfill the Great Commission by creative means.

Help People Discover Christ

The heart of DRIME’s ministry can be seen through our teams on many street corners around the world. Teams use a combination of drama and one-on-one evangelistic conversations to share the message of the Gospel with anyone who will stop and watch. Over the years, DRIME has had the opportunity to minister on various streets across North America, as well as in countries like Brazil, Mexico and Togo. Whether it is in the streets of Vancouver, in the slums of Kenya, in the villages of Benin and Paraguay, or in the busy streets of Thailand, DRIME desires to reach the lost for Jesus through a medium that speaks to the heart.

Empower Others for Ministry

We are passionate about the multiplication of the ministry! Though consistent local street ministries is a priority, we want to empower other ministries around the world – Teams which we can equip to actively share the Gospel on their own street corners, and in their communities and spheres of influence. DRIME hosts training workshops in drama and evangelism to inspire others to launch similar ministries in their communities. Mission teams, youth groups, and individuals with a heart for the lost and for creative evangelism have attended these workshops and have gone on to effectively minister in their own cities.

Inspire Passionate Leaders

One of the greatest joys of ministry is seeing team members truly catch the vision of the larger organization. DRIME offers a unique platform for its members to be invested in and to be developed personally, spiritually, and in leadership. Through a variety of experiences, not only do they have the chance to reach out and serve others, but also they have the unique opportunities to be entrusted with and to be part of something bigger than themselves. Whether it is through leading mission trips, training at workshops, or starting a team and inspiring their team, DRIME members are constantly being empowered and given ownership of various projects.
